Activision has officially announced that the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be permanently shut down on April 17, 2026. This decision marks the final step in the gradual decommissioning of the title, which was once intended to bring the full, high-fidelity Battle Royale experience to handheld devices with seamless cross-progression across PC and consoles.

Falling Short of “Mobile-First” Expectations In an official statement, Activision cited that the game “did not meet expectations with mobile-first players” in the same way its PC and console counterparts have dominated their respective markets. Despite a massive marketing push and 50 million pre-registrations leading up to its March 2024 launch, the title struggled to maintain a consistent player base.

Technical hurdles and high hardware requirements often alienated users on mid-range devices, while the existing Call of Duty: Mobile—a separate title developed by TiMi Studio Group—continued to outperform it in both engagement and revenue.

The Roadmap to the Shutdown The writing has been on the wall for some time. The game was delisted from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store in May 2025, at which point new downloads and in-app purchases were disabled.

Final Date: Servers will go offline on April 17, 2026.

In-Game Currency: Activision has confirmed that refunds will not be issued for unused COD Points. Players are urged to spend any remaining balance on existing content before the April deadline.

Account Access: While guest accounts will be permanently deleted, users with an Activision Account will retain their progress and items across other franchise titles, including Call of Duty: Mobile, Warzone (PC/Console), and upcoming mainline releases.

The Migration to Call of Duty: Mobile With the sunsetting of Warzone Mobile, Activision is focusing its mobile resources on the evergreen Call of Duty: Mobile. The publisher is actively encouraging players to migrate to the older but more stable platform, which recently integrated several Warzone-inspired features, including the extraction-based “DMZ: Recon” mode.

“While we are proud of the technical feat of bringing an authentic Warzone experience to mobile, we have made the final decision to take the game offline to better serve our community where they are most active,” the company stated.
